The objective of the department is to impart skill and problem-based accounting education to the students as per the demand for modern accounting knowledge in the Industry. For this, the department offers various skill-enhancement courses under the CBCS system. Apart from the conventional teaching method, the department adopts student-centric interactive approaches like Brain Storming, Group Discussions, and Flipped Classroom teaching methods to groom the students.

The department provides accounting education to all the students enrolled under the undergraduate and higher secondary courses as per the directives of Gauhati University and Assam Higher Secondary Education Council. To redress students’ grievances and academic-
related discussions other than classroom learning, all the faculties of the department keep themselves actively in touch with the students through various social media.

Being an integral part of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Adarsha Mahavidyalaya, Tulungia, Bongaigaon, the department firmly believes to be socially responsible. Therefore, besides imparting academic education, the department also performs community welfare
activities such as conducting various awareness programmes in the vicinity of the institute.
