As, Assamese is our mother tongue and hence, all the faculties of the department always emphasizes on the learning and usage of it in the academic sphere. This department imparts functional Assamese at undergraduate level and MIL (Assamese) at higher secondary level accordingly.
Objectives:
- To stress the importance of Assamese as a mother tongue.
- To create awareness among the students for learning Assamese language and literature.
- To develop students’ creativity in the context of the Assamese language.
